TeamRopeSmart showed up in Las Vegas, NV in a big way December 5-16! WPRA Breakaway Roper, Joey Williams, won 2nd in round 3 with a 2.3, 4th in round 9 with a 2.3 and was 2nd in round 10, roping her final calf in 2.1 seconds. Joey finished the 2023 season ranked the 7th place breakaway roper in the World. John Douch started the NFR strong. He won round 1, tying his calf in 7.7 seconds. Douch also placed second in round 8. He stayed solid all week, roping ten calves 95.8 seconds to win 6th in the average and finish the year as the #10 Calf Roper in the World with $199,343.88.

We had four headers qualify for the 2023 NFR! They definitely came to play in the Thomas & Mack for ten days. Clint Summers won rounds 1, 2, 4 and 7. He also placed in rounds 9 and 10, and was 5th in the average, finishing the 2023 season as the PRCA Reserve World Champion Header with $283,039.51. Nelson Wyatt roped smart, placing in rounds1, 2, 3, 4, and 8, and got his biggest win by winning Round 10. Nelson won 6th in the average and finished the season as the #6 header in the world with $251,412.18. He also finished 3rd in the All-Around World Standings. Dustin Egusquiza roped strong all year. He placed in rounds 2, 5, and 6. Dustin finished the season 9th in the World PRCA Standings with $190,445.48. This makes all four of our headers land in the top 10. The cinderella story of the year came from Tyler Wade! He was ranked in 40th in the world mid-summer and had one of the biggest comebacks. In Vegas, he placed in rounds 3 and 4. He won round 8 with a 3.3 and tied the arena record in the Thomas & Mack. He came back to win round 9, finishing 3rd in the average and winning enought to be crowned the 2023 World Champion Header. Wade finished the season with a total of $308,057.17.
